1) Excel files on a mapped drive to the server will not open.In reference to my comment to the original question, it turns out that in my case this was simply caused by OneNote running. When prompted, install OneDrive for business. I (IT Technician with an admin account) can open the file fine, when I click on it, it opens directly in Excel.The size of the file does not seem to matter.
This means that any connection with an excel file in OneDrive via a web link to PowerBI will crash when it is more than 30MB. Excel crashes when opening file from sharepoint Step 2: Click “Browse” and locate the folder which contains the spreadsheet that crashed.
